We have multiple routines and treatments to look after our skin, but don’t give enough attention to one of the most important aspects of having beautiful skin: our diet and nutrition.

Our skin cells are constantly shedding to make way for new cells, which means a constant supply of wholesome nutrients are essential for new skin growth. Eating a balanced meal with clean ingredients can be the best way to ensure that your skin stays soft and radiant.

Start treating your skin kindly and read on for some of our favorite food and drinks that are rich in Antioxidants, Vitamins and Selenium to help nourish and maintain your skin.

Avocados

High in essential healthy fats, Vitamin E and C, Avocados provide an array of benefits to your skin including keeping it nourished and flexible. It also contains a compound that may help protect your skin from sun damage.

Salmon

Rich in antioxidants, Salmon is also rich in fatty acids that help your skin stay protected and moisturized. Providing an array of nutrients for your overall well-being, health care experts recommend including salmon into your regular diet to get your dose of Omega-3.

Sweet Potatoes

An excellent source of Vitamins, Sweet Potatoes contain Beta Carotene which helps protect your skin from harmful sun rays by acting as a barrier. High amounts of Beta Carotene may also add an orange glow to your skin making you look more radiant.

Water melon

Packed with Antioxidants, Watermelon helps your skin stay hydrated and nourished with an array of nutrients including Beta-Carotene and Vitamin C. High in water content, Watermelon is also an ideal snack for those who sometimes forget to drink the needed amount of water per day.

Oats

High in fiber, Oats is now considered one of the most healthy and nutritious breakfast options. It is also high in Selenium which is an antioxidant compound that helps protect cells from damage while giving your immune system a boost.

Water

This may seem like an easy one, but majority of us forget to give our body the necessary amount of water it requires per day. Water is very important for your skin to stay soft and supple. Include nutrient rich nuts such as Almonds in to your diet to help your overall well-being. Almonds are also rich in Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that can help prevent signs of aging.

Sunflower Oil

High in Linoleic Acid, Sunflower Oil can help reduce cellular inflammation while also supporting your skin cells’ membranes.

Red or Yellow Bell Peppers

Similar to Carrots and Sweet Potatoes, Bell Peppers contain an ample amount of Beta Carotene and Vitamin C which antioxidants that are beneficial to your skin. Vitamin C also aids with the creation of Collagen which helps keep your skin strong and firm.

Broccoli

A good source of Vitamins and minerals, Broccoli should be incorporated into your daily diet to help maintain your health and well-being. Broccoli also contains Sulforaphane which helps prevent skin cancer.
