The perfect DIY Pedicure

Chapped feet, rough soles, chipped nails?

Sounds like you are in desperate need of a pedicure!

Our feet go through a lot, therefore it is important to give them some TLC on the regular. While we would love to head to the salon for some good old fashioned pampering, time and budget restraints tend to get in the way. So what’s the solution you may ask? A quick and easy DIY pedicure in the comforts of your own home.

All you need is a few minutes to spare, some easy to find tools and a little bit of patience to make your soles and your soul happy!

Gather your tools

To give yourself the ultimate pedicure, make sure you have all the tools you need before you begin so that you don’t have to interrupt your treatment. You will need a nail clipper, cuticle stick, nail polish remover, nail file, foot file, nail polish, foot scrub, small basin, foot cream, basecoat polish, top coat polish, nail separators and cotton pads.

Clean your nails

Use a nail polish remover and a cotton pad to remove any leftover polish. Even if your nails are free of polish, using nail polish remover will help remove any excess oil from your nails.

Cut, Push and File!

Next, grab your nail clipper and cut your nails to the desired length. Use your nail file to carefully buff your nails to get rid of any jagged edges. Finally, use the cuticle pusher to push back your cuticles. Be gentle as possible to avoid damaging your nails and your nail bed.

Soak your feet

Now it’s time for the relaxing part of the pedicure! Grab a basin, fill it with lukewarm water and soak your feet for a few minutes. If you have afoot soak or salt, add it to the water as this will help soothe your muscles and hydrate your skin. Play some soothing tunes to create a spa-like atmosphere and enjoy!

Remove the dead skin

Dry your feet with a towel and then use a foot file to get rid of dead skin from the sides and the heels of your feet.

Moisturize your feet

Give your feet the hydration it deserves by using a moisturizer allover your foot. Gently and evenly apply the cream and give your feet a little massage.

Get painting!

Get your base coat, apply a layer and leave it to dry for at least 3-4minutes. Then apply a coat of your favorite nail polish color. Leave it to dry for a few minutes and follow with a second coat. Once dry, apply a top coat and you’re good to go!
